Book of the Month #4: April 2015

Akin to a monthly wrap up, Book of the Month is where I list all of the books that I have read this month and nominate my favorite.

Unfortunately, April hasn’t been that great of a reading month for me with a total of only four books. Hopefully May will bring with it many more books read. However, I do admit that it has been a pretty good month in terms of blog posts.

The Winner’s Crime (The Winner’s Trilogy #2) by Marie Rutkoski.

A title that I actually discovered and viewed through NetGallery, The Winner’s Crime is an absolutely spectacular read. For more of my thoughts you can check out my review (just click the book title).

Honourable Mention

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Grey. I am so close to finishing this book but alas I was not able to do so tonight. Not only is this cover absolutely gorgeous, but the story inside is brilliant, enthralling and just so good. Be sure to keep an eye out for my review which I will hopefully be posting sometime tomorrow.

What are your thoughts? Have you read any of the books that I did this month? Do you have a different preference? Why/Why not? Do you agree with me? How many books have you read this month? Do you have any recommendations for me? Please leave your answers in the comments below.

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

I fell in love with this book! It was beautifully written, with amazing characters and a great plot.

I must admit, Legend and Half-Blood came very close second!

Book of the Month #1: April 2014

Hey there!

Up until now practically everything that I’ve posted on here I’ve also got on my Goodreads account. However, this is something new that I’m trying out.

I’m going to nominate what my favourite book that I read this month was, and then list ALL of the books that I’ve read during April below it. I’d really appreciate it if you commented your thoughts – maybe you have a different preference? Why/Why not? Do you agree with me? How many of the books that I read this month have you actually read? Do you have any recommendations for me? Thanks! 🙂

My favourite book of April is…. *drum roll please*

*groan* I underestimated how hard this would be…

Delirium by Lauren Oliver!

Delirium

I loved this book. It brought forth great concepts and ideas; it was very thought-provoking; brilliantly written; had great character development; made me fall in love with the characters; made me laugh; made me cry; and made me realise just how much I take for granted. – It was just a beautiful story! Not to mention, it left on a HUGE cliff hanger which, as much as I hate them, I love them too.

I have not written a review on this book but it is a Dystopian novel and the synopsis is as follows:

Ninety-five days, and then I’ll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It’s hard to be patient. It’s hard not to be afraid while I’m still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn’t touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don’t.

Don’t you just love the cover???! 🙂
