In Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she’ll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of. . .

Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.

Set after Shatter Me and before its forthcoming sequel, Unravel Me, Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

This book… This book.

Warner is just so amazing and complex and ohmygoodnessIcan’teven.

I absolutely loved seeing inside of Warner’s mind, what his childhood was like, why he acts the way he does, as well as his reaction to reading Juliette’s journal. There were a few instances where I shed some tears. Chapter sixteen broke my heart.

There’s nothing much else that I can say about Destroy Me without spoiling people, but if you like the series at all, if you love Warner, then read this book. I don’t care if you have something against novellas – just read it.

Even though Destroy Me is listed as #1.5 in the series, I would recommend doing as I did and reading it after Unravel Me. I found that it was better to get to know Warner as Juliette did, and then switch to his perspective on everything that happened – let’s just say that you will come to understand that certain were not as they appeared and if you didn’t love Warner already, you will after reading this novella.

You can find my reviews for Shatter Me and Unravel Me here and here.

Please comment your thoughts so I can fangirl with you about the brilliance that is Warner!

      1. Warner is definitely the endgame! ❤ He's simply amazing, and currently he also rests higher than Will Herondale for me, although soon enough they'll both be tied, I'm sure. 🙂 I just love both Will and Warner so much! 😀

      2. Yes! Haha yep 😉 Also, I’ve just started reading Adam’s novella and it is doing nothing but convince me how perfect Warner is. Adam is a serious jerk and thinks so low of Juliette, yet believes he loves her *shakes head*
