The Guard (The Selection #2.5) + A Teaser to The One

Read in April, 2014

Author: Kiera Cass

The Guard

A very cute story. I love Aspen (currently more than Maxon) and it was awesome to hear some of the story from his perspective.

Aspen –

If you ever need someone to go to if (when) America chooses Maxon, I’m here for you! (Though I would ship Lucy and him ^_^)

The teaser to “the One” was… Interesting. While I was totally face palming and mentally yelling at both America because of her stupidity and Maxon because he infuriated me, it ended on an intriguing note.

2 stars (because of how un-America it was)

The Prince (The Selection #0.5)

the Prince

This was a pretty good story, but the blurb was totally misleading. I mean, I was expecting a cute forbidden love story between Maxon and another girl, but this ended up being essentially the second chapter or so of “the Selection” from Maxon’s point of view. Interesting, but a big let down.

Of Triton (Syrena Legacy #2)

Read from March 24 to 28, 2014

Author: Anna Banks

Of Triton

5 Stars

Beautiful. Brilliant. “Of Triton” made me laugh, it made me want to cry, it made me want to curse at the characters (and I am sorely against swearing), it made me gasp in surprise, it made me feel. It is a truly complex and stunning read that is wonderfully written.

The Farseekers (Obernewtyn #2)

Read from February 28 to March 02, 2014

Author: Isabelle Carmody

5 Stars

This is currently my favourite book.

“The Farseekers” has depth, character relationships and developments, vivid imagination, a cunning plot line, beautiful descriptions, purpose, love, loss, home, friendships, development of minor characters, brilliant weaving in of new characters and an altogether fascinating read.

I fully recommend it and am going on to read the next one as soon as I can get my hands on a copy.

Lost Girls (Drake Chronicles #0.5)

I loved Helena before, but now she’s just epic 😀

(And no, I have no idea why the cover says “Bleeding Hearts” when it’s the cover for “Lost Girls”. What is even more confusing is that “Bleeding Hearts” is the title of the fourth book in the series.)
